Establishing the brand identity for one of the largest tourism initiatives on the East Coast involved creating a comprehensive identity that includes a family of logos, brochures, and directional and interpretive signage. What began in 1994 as a somewhat modest effort to preserve the route of Lee’s Retreat in Southside Virginia now features more than 1,500 historic sites throughout Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, and Tennessee.
