At Communication Design each member of our creative team works directly with clients and handles project management responsibilities. We stress close collaboration in the design and visual problem-solving process throughout the life of each project.
Robert Meganck, Principal, Designer and Illustrator • robert@communicationdesign.com
A founder of Communication Design, Robert has received design and illustration awards from more than 100 professional competitions and been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, the Art Directors Club of New York, and the American Institute of Graphic Artists. His illustrations have appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Washington City Paper, and a host of magazines, including The Harvard Business Review, Virginia Living and Richmond Magazine.

Now in his 20th year with Communication Design, Tim has a well-earned reputation for his design and project management skills. His work has been recognized by such organizations as the International Association of Business Communicators, Public Relations Society of America, and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. He has a BFA in Graphic Design and an MFA in Visual Communication from Virginia Commonwealth University and has taught at VCU and North Carolina State University.

In 1990, Bil began freelancing at Communication Design for one of his favorite professors and has never left. His design work has been recognized by publications such as American Corporate Identity, Art Direction, and Print magazine’s Regional Design Annual. He has also won awards from the Art Director’s Club of Metropolitan Washington. A graduate of VCU, Bil demonstrates expertise that extends from signage to print and interaction design. Bil also serves in an indispensible role as our in-house IT department.

A graduate of VCU, Carol Anne Baker Lajoie has over a decade of experience in the Richmond non-profit community. Carol Anne draws on her time in fundraising and development to offer strategic marketing and business solutions. She has extensive experience in advancement, writing, PR, and donor relations for arts & cultural and health & human services organizations. She remains a passionate advocate for her former employers, the Virginia Historical Society and the YWCA of Richmond.

A graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, Ohio, Anthony comes to Communication Design after serving as designer for a range of media at Richmond's First Baptist Church, including print, interactive and motion graphics. Prior to coming to Richmond, he was a graphic designer for a family of television stations in Miami. His expertise extends from branding and publication design to print ads and website design.

With more than 25 years of experience in interaction and visual interface design, Roy has led the firm's efforts in adapting client communication needs to the Web since 1998. He has authored a book on website design entitled Hypergraphics, published by Rotovision, and has co-edited and art-directed a book on digital typeface history and design titled Revival of the Fittest: Digital Versions of Classic Typefaces for RC publications, a subsidiary of Print magazine.
